The Challenge

The number of stores at Donatos is rising more quickly than pizza dough: Donatos is aggressively opening new stores, rendering it one of the fastest-growing pizza chains in the region.

The rate of growth increased the need for Donatos to standardize operations and communicate more effectively within teams, across departments and out to the field. The IT manager identified two hurdles to standardizing operations and improving communication. First, Donatos lacked the tools to help people with minimum project management experience initiate projects and be effective. Additionally, the teams – including members in stores scattered across five states – required a central receptacle for information to allow collaboration, allocate tasks and set up a system for accountability.

Donatos is the restaurant, but TeamDynamix was the one able to fill the order this time around, with its easy-to-use enterprise project software.

The Solution

TeamDynamix provided a user-friendly method to manage projects and enable team collaboration at Donatos, through its TD Next V4.0 project management software (and, subsequently, the upgraded version of that software, Enterprise  Unlike other project management systems, the TeamDynamix software is intuitive, with a terminology set familiar to most people. In addition, the software promotes collaboration. Users simply need to remember one Web address to access data, use e-mail, and identify and respond to tasks. The TeamDynamix software keeps everyone on track, day-to-day and meeting to meeting. 5.0). Donatos noted that the software offers a simple user interface, rendering it non-threatening to supervisors who are not project managers by trade.

Donatos also found the software’s issues management capability to be an invaluable tool. This capability allows team members to immediately bring an issue to the attention of the person best positioned to resolve it, keeping the project on course.

The TeamDynamix project management software was the ideal solution for keeping Donatos on course, too, providing improved control over processes to better manage the company to control operations during continued growth.

The Results

To date, TeamDynamix software is in use across or within the IT department, Accounting, Human Resources and Operations, including staff involved in the new-store opening process. Teams who have adopted the software are on record for completing projects on time and on budget more often than those teams who have not yet adopted the software. The clear success of the TeamDynamix software is moving Donatos toward implementing it across the board, standardizing all processes within the pizza chain and strengthening its ability to manage continued growth.
