TeamDynamix today announced that Old Dominion University has selected TeamDynamixHE to replace it homegrown IT project tracking solution and manage its growing portfolio. With a maturing organization, ODU recognized a need for a true project and portfolio management system to provide capabilities such as resource management and project prioritization. TeamDynamixHE provides ODU with a central clearinghouse of project activity, a clear view of all IT projects, and a solution that can be used by people of all project management skill levels and experience.
ODU’s Office of Computing and Communication Services (OCCS) has 45 employees managing projects with TeamDynamixHE, and more than 80 others who participate on project teams. The university recently completed project manager training and intends to use TeamDynamixHE to manage all IT projects that require more than 80 hours of work. In 2011, OCCS managed more than 230 projects that fit that criterion. TeamDynamixHE also provides ODU with the option to streamline its smaller operational work and manage help desk tickets in the same tool.
In addition to helping with process improvements, particularly with its built in collaboration and notification features, TeamDynamixHE is also allowing OCCS to benchmark so that it can measure key performance indicators later in the year. ODU expects that TeamDynamixHE will allow project managers to better evaluate project performance and progress, while the reporting capabilities will advance OCCS’ ability to share its IT story with senior management and the campus community. The reports will provide the university with a much-needed executive-level and enterprise view that is beneficial for strategic decision-making.
Old Dominion has quickly embraced TeamDynamixHE and is already seeing improvements in their processes. We look forward to supporting Old Dominion as it works to address the technology capabilities and needs of the university.
