October 25, 2016 – Columbus, OH.  TeamDynamix announces that John Borwick has joined their organization and will be speaking at the upcoming EDUCAUSE conference for Higher Ed.  John has joined as a managing consultant for process improvement within the professional services organization.  He will be focused on helping customers implement and optimize their service management and project portfolio platforms for improved resource management, service delivery and efficiency.

“I am excited to be working with organizations who are designing or improving their IT processes,” states Borwick.  “My focus is to make people’s lives easier through improved IT management, and I look forward to working with our customers on their journey of process improvement.”  In the midst of this transition, Borwick looks ahead to EDUCAUSE National 2016, where he will be facilitating a preconference seminar called, “Conducting IT Process Improvements.” This session will be in a seminar format, and will focus on techniques to conduct IT process improvements, a review of IT process frameworks such as ITIL and the PMBOK, and how to support organizational change management as part of improvement.

John’s journey first began as a UNIX systems administrator at Wake Forest University, where he began to learn about process frameworks and became an advocate for process improvement. Since then, he has been a CSI manager, ITIL Foundations trainer, PMO director, and IT director. John holds the ITIL® Expert, PMP®, and CGEIT® certificates. He has been a leader in the itSMF Higher Education COI and the EDUCAUSE ITSM CG and he has given presentations at EDUCAUSE National as well as ITSM and PROJECT constituent group webinars. He has a particular interest in Lean-based improvement and organizational change management.

“We are pleased to welcome John Borwick to the TeamDynamix family,” states C.J. Wimley, CEO.  “As we continue to grow the company, we are looking to bring on strong talent with deep expertise in the Higher Ed and technology space.  Our research and customer interactions indicate a need for improved IT maturity and this is only gaining momentum as we see an increased spend in EdTech.”

In an effort to understand the challenges facing Higher Ed IT, TeamDynamix recently conducted a pulse study to evaluate IT organizational maturity. The study uncovered that the majority of Higher Ed organizations self-rank to the lowest two levels pointing toward a need for increased focus on process and technology.
