Supporting Faculty & Staff in a Changing Environment

Supporting Faculty & Staff Through IT

If you’re trying to focus on Supporting Faculty & Staff through IT it can be tough because they’re everywhere!  No longer centralized to campus, IT staff, faculty, and administration are working hand in hand to try to provide the best service to their community.

Gone are the days when students, faculty, and staff members are in the same place they were yesterday, and the day before that, and the day before that. Nope—now you’re essentially managing a global campus, but while also trying to provide the same level of attention and service to everyone as if they’re just across the quad.

In an ever-evolving ecosystem, Higher Ed IT departments need to be flexible enough to handle the big projects that come along and still provide the day-to-day technical assistance required by a community that’s always moving. What’s more, all of this can even make the IT department itself a bit siloed as each group within it focuses on their specific areas and assignments.

Michelle Brown, Assistant Director of IT for the Division of Student Life at the University of Oregon, leverages IT Service Management (ITSM) and Project Portfolio Management (PPM) from TeamDynamix to provide top-notch service supporting faculty & staff and to create one unified IT community.

In this video, Michelle explains how she and her fellow Ducks at the University of Oregon use the TeamDynamix platform to:

  • Manage day-to-day support needs of the staff whether on campus or working remotely
  • Provide a wide range of IT services that help the staff support the students
  • Bring IT together into one unified community
